Citation Encore has a prototype — Citation II / SP. During its design, the fuselage was lengthened. The improved model of the aircraft accommodated 8 passengers. Production of the upgraded version began in 1994. The test flight took place in 1998. It entered serial production in the mid-2000s. After 7 years, deliveries were completely stopped. It features a more economical and powerful engine, a modernized chassis and an increased volume of fuel tanks.
