The Piper Meridian became the model for further design. The first announcements date back to 2006. The aircraft was presented at the 2008 JetExpo exhibition. The test flight took place in the same year. NewPiperAircraft has proposed a single-engine version of the jet. The task before the designers was not an easy one — to reduce the cost and operating costs. The announced price of the 5-passenger PiperJet was $ 2.2 million.
